Music Industry Meets To Discuss Latin Country Music Movement On Saturday, April 25, Country music industry professionals and Hispanic marketing professionals met for the first time in Nashville, TN. The group discussed the creation of a new nonprofit organization to support the Hispanic movement in Country music and to help foster the success of Latin Country music in the U.S. and Latin America. The meeting was led by Chicago resident and marketing executive Maritza Baca along with Matt Stevens, manager of Broken Bow recording artist Fidel Hernandez; Country artist Stephanie Urbina Jones; Country Music Association Executive Shannon Kasakevics; Tennessee Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President Greg Rodriguez; Latin Market Communications President Eva Melo and others. The organization strives to educate the Country music industry on the power of the Hispanic consumer and to increase the appreciation and recognition of Hispanic artists in Country music. "I have been very passionate about this movement for many years now, and I feel blessed with the opportunity to lead this organization and make it a success,� said Baca. “This is really a way of helping the Country music industry understand the importance and power of the Latino community and how it can help the Country music industry grow."
